Why I started Campus Connect
Hey, I'm Parker — a business student at Samford University, president of Samford Club Golf, and a member of Pi Kappa Phi.
I started Campus Connect because I saw two problems that I knew I could help solve. On one side, I hear my fellow students and friends constantly say that they are broke, or that they “don't have enough money” when they are invited to a concert or a meal out. On the other side, I know that the community could use quick, reliable help for odd-jobs but might not have someone on speed dial or know who exactly to call.
The answer seemed simple to me: connect Samford students who I know and trust with locals who need a hand. No complicated apps. No faceless corporations. Just real students from a university this community knows and loves, helping neighbors with the tasks on their to-do list. All it takes is filling out a short form, and we'll handle the rest.

Honestly, my new favorite part of this whole thing is seeing the reaction to our help. This particular job I saw the client genuinely so happy with the result. I just love helping out whenever I can, and making people happy.
What makes this work is trust. Samford isn't just any school. It's a Christian university with deep roots in Birmingham. When you “hire” a Campus Connect student, you're not getting a random stranger. You're getting someone who cares deeply about doing good work, and who represents something bigger than themselves. I believe that we are called to serve others and to be stewards of the community around us, and that is something that I hope this platform will represent and that our workers will strive for at each job.
That's Campus Connect — local help you can actually trust, one job at a time.
